During topping off (the final stage of loading), the tankerman should:

Topping off is the highest-risk loading phase. The rate is cut so the watch can monitor ullages, respond to high-level and overfill alarms, and shut down precisely at the planned level, preventing an overflow and spill. Only one or two tanks are topped at a time under close attention.
