If oil is spilled to the water during a transfer, the PIC must immediately:
- AContinue the transfer
- BStop the transfer and report the discharge to the National Response Center✓ Correct
- CWait until the transfer is finished
- DHose the oil off the deck into the water
Explanation
Any harmful discharge requires immediate action: shut down the transfer, contain/recover what is possible, and report to the National Response Center (1-800-424-8802). The Vessel Response Plan and Qualified Individual are then activated.
