- CWritten only in pencil
- DKept secret from the Coast Guard
Explanation
ORB entries (ballasting, tank cleaning, oily-water discharges, slop disposal, bunkering) are signed by the responsible officer, and each completed page by the master. The book is retained aboard and produced for port-state/Coast Guard inspection; false entries carry heavy penalties.
