During a helicopter rescue using the hi-line technique, the crew on deck must:
- ACut the line immediately
- BTie the hi-line firmly to a fixed point
- CPull the helicopter down by the line
- DTend (but never make fast) the weighted hi-line, allowing it to run, and avoid letting it foul✓ Correct
Explanation
In the hi-line method a weighted line guides the winch hook to the deck. The crew tends and hauls in the slack to control the strop or stretcher but must NEVER secure the line to the ship — a sudden helicopter movement could be catastrophic. Static electricity is also let discharge before handling.
