An AIS-SART differs from a radar SART in that it:
- AWorks only on 121.5 MHz
- BPaints a line of blips on a radar screen
- CTransmits the survival craft's position and identity as AIS messages shown on AIS-equipped vessels and ECDIS✓ Correct
- DRequires a satellite to receive it
Explanation
A radar SART responds to an X-band radar with a line of 12 blips on the radar display. An AIS-SART instead broadcasts AIS position reports (derived from its own GPS) that appear as a distinct target on nearby AIS receivers and ECDIS, giving searchers the survival craft's actual position.
