Explanation

Most enclosed-space deaths are would-be rescuers who rush in and are overcome by the same atmosphere. Sound the alarm, summon the rescue team, and never enter without self-contained breathing apparatus, a lifeline, and a tended standby. Rescuing without protection just adds casualties.
