An inflatable liferaft is normally launched and inflated by:
- AHand-pumping it on deck before launch
- BWaiting for it to inflate on contact with water
- CSecuring the painter to the vessel, throwing the canister overboard, and pulling the painter to fire the CO2 inflation✓ Correct
- DCutting it free and letting it sink to deploy
Explanation
Make the painter fast to a strong point, throw the canister over the side, then give the painter a sharp pull to trigger the gas inflation. The painter also keeps the inflated raft tethered alongside for boarding. A hydrostatic release frees it automatically if the ship sinks.
