Annex IV, paragraph 2, contains an important prohibition. What does it forbid?

Explanation

Annex IV paragraph 2 states that the use or exhibition of any of the signals described in the Annex except for purposes of indicating distress, and the use of other signals which may be confused with any of those signals, is prohibited. False distress signals can divert rescue resources and endanger the lives of rescuers.
