The 'aspect' of a target in radar plotting is:

Aspect is the angle between the target's heading and the line of sight from the target to own ship — effectively own ship's relative bearing from the target. It indicates which of the target's sides you are seeing (red/green aspect) and helps anticipate how the encounter and the applicable steering rules develop.
