OUPV & 100-Ton Master · Master's Authority — Refusal of Passengers
The master of a passenger vessel has the authority and duty to:
- ACarry unlimited passengers regardless of the COI
- BNever deny boarding under any circumstances
- CRefuse to board or to remove a person who is intoxicated or whose conduct endangers the vessel or others✓ Correct
- DDelegate all command to a passenger
Explanation
The master is responsible for the safety of the vessel and all aboard and may refuse passage to, or remove, a person who is intoxicated, disorderly, or otherwise a danger. The master must also never exceed the passenger limit set on the Certificate of Inspection.
