When a chart is corrected from a Notice to Mariners, the navigator should:
- AErase all prior notes
- BPhotocopy the chart
- CRecord the NtM number/date in the chart's correction record and apply the change in ink✓ Correct
- DDiscard the chart
Explanation
Permanent corrections are entered in violet/ink and logged (NtM week/number) in the chart's correction block, so the watch can verify the chart is up to date. Temporary (T) and preliminary (P) corrections are noted in pencil and removed when canceled.
