When taking a radar fix, the most reliable single-object method is to use:

Because radar range is far more accurate than radar bearing, a fix built from two or more radar ranges (distance arcs) to identified objects is preferred. A range-and-bearing to a single object is acceptable but the range is the stronger LOP.
