Meteorology · Local Winds — Sea Breeze
A sea breeze blows from sea to land during the day because:
- AThe sea heats faster than the land
- BThe tide is rising
- COf the Coriolis effect alone
- DThe land heats faster than the sea, and rising warm air over land draws in cooler marine air✓ Correct
Explanation
By day the land warms faster than the water; air rises over the land and cooler sea air flows in to replace it (sea breeze). At night the land cools faster and the flow reverses as a land breeze.
