Meteorology · Fronts — Warm Sector
In a typical mid-latitude wave cyclone, the warm sector is the region:
- ABetween the warm front and the trailing cold front✓ Correct
- BBehind (west of) the cold front
- CWithin the calm eye of the low
- DAloft above the occlusion
Explanation
The warm sector is the wedge of warm air between the warm front (ahead) and the following cold front. As the cyclone matures and the cold front overtakes the warm front, this sector is squeezed and lifted, forming an occlusion.
