Meteorology · Pressure Systems — Isobars
Closely spaced isobars on a weather map indicate:
- AA strong pressure gradient and strong winds✓ Correct
- BLight winds
- CCalm, clear weather
- DNo wind information
Explanation
The closer the isobars, the steeper the pressure gradient and the stronger the wind. Widely spaced isobars mean a weak gradient and light winds. Isobar spacing is a quick wind-strength indicator.
