Before relieving the watch, the oncoming officer must:
- ATake over immediately regardless of condition
- BBe satisfied as to the vessel's position, course, traffic, and conditions before accepting the watch✓ Correct
- COnly check the weather
- DWait for the master
Explanation
The relieving officer personally verifies the position, intended track, traffic, hazards, and the standing/night orders, and should not take over (nor should the watch be handed over) if the reliever is impaired or unable to carry out duties effectively.
