By accepted U.S. practice, a dead-reckoning plot is advanced and a new DR position established at each of the following EXCEPT:
- AEvery course change
- BEvery time the engine RPM is logged✓ Correct
- CEvery speed change
- DEvery hour on the hour and at the time of each fix or LOP
Explanation
Standard DR rules: plot a new DR position at every course change, every speed change, every hour on the hour, and at the time of each fix or single LOP. Logging engine RPM by itself is not an event that requires a new DR position.
