A running fix is required when:
- ATwo objects are visible simultaneously
- BOnly one object or one line of position is available, so an earlier LOP is advanced to a later one✓ Correct
- CGPS is the only source of position
- DThe vessel is at anchor
Explanation
When only one LOP can be obtained at a time (e.g., a single landmark or one celestial body), the earlier LOP is advanced along the course-and-distance run to the time of the second LOP and crossed with it to form a running fix.
